Go Outside and Play!

Go outside and play!” said God.
“I have given you Universes
as fields to run free in!
And here—take this and wrap yourself in it—It’s called:
LOVE
and It will always, always keep you warm.
And stars! The sun and the moon and the stars!
Look upon these often, for they will remind you
of your own light!
And eyes…oh, gaze into the eyes of every Lover.
Gaze into the eyes of every other
for they have given you their Universes
as fields to run free in.
There.
I have given you everything you need.
Now go, go, go outside and play!”

THE WORST EVER???

Several years ago I made a trip out west to visit my good friend and as usual we went shopping for souviners for our kids. Something unusual, something they would enjoy, get a kick out of...Searching for just the right gift for my son...I came upon Mr. Dribbler ( actually called the Dribblin' Fool and since my son played basketball, I thought he would find this work of art as funny as I did...well, when he left home for college he left the Dribbler behind, graduated from college, got his own apartment, still didn't take the ole boy. Buys a home, moves in and the Dribbler is still in my house!! He's pretty well hauled everything off but not a word has been said about the Dribbler...you know, when I bought this thing, I noticed my friend didn't have much to say about my purchase but we were in a hurry ( I actually made her stop on our way to the airport so I could buy this thing)...so the question is...what to do with the worst gift I ever bought my son...The"Dribblin' Fool? Help me out and register your vote in the poll just above this post...

FIRE RAINBOW

THIS IS A FIRE RAINBOW - THE RAREST OF ALL NATURALLY OCCURRING ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA.
THE PICTURE WAS CAPTURED THIS WEEK ON THE IDAHO/WASHINGTON BORDER (and sadly, this photo is not by Sharon, I am just happy to be able to pass it on)
THE EVENT LASTED ABOUT 1 HOUR
CLOUDS HAVE TO BE CIRRUS, AT LEAST 20K FEET IN THE AIR, WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ICE CRYSTALS AND THE SUN HAS TO HIT THE CLOUDS AT PRECISELY 58 DEGREES.

Happy Earth Day

MyFunCards eCards: Holidays > Other > Earth Day 04-22

April 22 is Earth Day and it seems a rare and special Earth Day...my friend, student of astrology, tells me there is a rare alignment taking place in our skies...Pluto, Saturn and the Sun will be bringing to us, with this alignment, harmony, inspiration, new vitality and possibilities...all emerging with grace...and the influence of this alignment will continue into Earth Day...Combine that with the dynamic energy of a full moon and we have a very powerful and winning combination...find your own special way to celebrate, be a part of, and contribute to Earth Day...let's learn to conserve and preserve!

We all want our children and our children's children to know and experience the beauty and miracles of this planet Earth...

There are just so many reasons to take care of and protect this marvelous planet...

An Earth Day suggestion...

Having just watched the 8th webcast of Oprah and Eckhart Tolle, it occured to me that "A New Earth" is the perfect book to recommend to all for Earth Day...written by Eckhart Tolle, it speaks to the words...Peace, let it begin with me...and how that peace will affect everyone and everything around us...Excellent read!

If you need a good laugh, or even if you don't, have one on me and the goat...

Birds of the Appalachain Mts.

The indigo bunting has returned from his winter retreat...did you know they migrate at night using the stars as their navigational system? The indigo bunting has only been visiting our feeder over the last couple of years...and he seems to show up more often every year...He's a beauty and we love having him...

And here we have the Red-Headed woodpecker and as far as we know, this is the first time in all the years (about 30) we have been feeding the birds that we have had this visitor...he didn't stay long, but perhaps he will visit again...this is my favorite woodpecker so I am really happy he found us...

Liberty & Justice start a new family

If you havn't visited the nest of Liberty and Justice in Pigeon Forge, TN. then please let me have the honor of introducing this beautiful pair of eagles...so gather up the old folks and the youngsters and watch these marvelous birds attend to the two very precious eggs in their nest. If you can be patient and you are very lucky, you may get to see their babies emerging from their shells. How much fun will it be to watch these two very protective and caring parents raise their babies?
(day time viewing only)
If you are unable to log on, it is probably a malfunction of the eagle cam...if you contact the site, they will inform you of any problems they are having...and keep trying...this site is worth effort.

Winter on Daddy's Creek

Life in the beautiful, ancient Appalachain Mountains brings peace...solitude...serenity...

A hot summer day, a burst of evening sunset...and nights of cool mountain air...

Led into fall by our senses...crisp, crackling air, rustling leaves of brilliant colors, the pumpkin patch...and Oh my, that Harvest Moon..

Carriers of ancient wisdom, our fabulous mountains...listen...

Spring explodes with breathtaking color...
...we could think of flowers as the
enlightenment of plants...
