Another beautiful day in Hawaii....another beautiful rainbow...
Go Outside and Play!
“Go outside and play!” said God.
“I have given you Universes
as fields to run free in!
And here—take this and wrap yourself in it—It’s called:
LOVE
and It will always, always keep you warm.
And stars! The sun and the moon and the stars!
Look upon these often, for they will remind you
of your own light!
And eyes…oh, gaze into the eyes of every Lover.
Gaze into the eyes of every other
for they have given you their Universes
as fields to run free in.
There.
I have given you everything you need.
Now go, go, go outside and play!”

A Sound in the Jungle...
Sitting out in the night, alone I might add, enjoying the beautiful night sky, I hear a sound coming from the jungle, and out walks...
There are many wild pigs (I call them boars) that are pretty good size. This is a female pregnant with what looks like an army of piglets...they are not dangerous unless provoked, who would be such a fool?!! Since this pic, mom has given birth, no one knows for sure how many babies she had but we have seen a few of her little ones. Seems they like to hang out in the camping area. Scraps from all meals are saved to feed these guys.
TOUGH DAY...
After a tough day of shopping and sight seeing we felt we needed some refreshment:
IT'S MARGARITA TIME!!!
Sitting next to me is my roommate Joanna from Philly, behind her are Telka and Susie from Hungary and Kelly from Canada. John from the UK, Frederick from Denmark, Chris (don't know) and standing is John, staff member who was kind enough to drive us around all day. Missing is Louise, who is about my age. She thinks I should go with her to look at property here. She plans to make this area her home! It was a fun day and a good bunch to travel with. Like the toothy smile? Well, photographer did tell us to say "cheese", but seems I was the only one listening! Ok maybe the Margarita had a little something to do with it...just sayin'
RAINBOW FALLS...
I am very honored and excited to have two new viewers of "musings" from right here at Kalani...Welcome Cat and Dana...both in management...and two really great people, I am very happy we have become friends, hope you will stop by often!
Skies were overcast when we visited Rainbow Falls, thought about photoshopping one in but decided that I wouldn't be fooling anyone! Maybe next trip...
Here's one for you Terri....
YELLOW-BILLED CARDINAL....found only in Hawaii...first recorded in 1973...

COMPETING FOR FIRST PLACE...
It is impossible to call any flower I have seen so far as my favorite one but this Blue Jade Vine is spectacular, I picked some old blooms off the ground. Bringing them home to see if I can grow my own~

Kalani was honored by a premier showing of this documentary, it is captivating. You can read more about it on their website or facebook. It is a story that will appeal to all but especially to my backpacking friends. We were absolutely spellbound. Don't miss it!!! And if you like it, be sure and "Like" it on FB...it helps them to raise money and gets them more showings.
Walking the Camino embarks on a journey with six strangers from around the world as they attempt to cross an entire country on foot - with only a backpack, a pair of boots and an open mind. Driven by an inexplicable calling and a grand sense of adventure, each pilgrim throws themselves heart-and-soul into their physical trek to Santiago and, most importantly, their personal journey to themselves.
Support from several organizations and numerous donors has allowed us to near completion of this film. We are continuing to raise funds for the finishing and distribution costs of documentary. We can't do it alone, nor should we - this is the Camino's film. By supporting The Camino Documentary, it becomes yours, too.

OMG, OMG!!!!
I SAW THE WHALES TODAY...I SAW THE WHALES...A MOMA AND TWO BABIES!!!!!!
Know the saying "life isn't about the number of breaths you take but the number of times your breath is taken away. The miracle I saw today literally took my breath away. I was at The Point for a few quiet moments, looked up and saw their spray, then they breached the water and showed off their magnificent tails. My heart was pounding, I had goosebumps and it felt as if a gentle electrical charge was running thru my body. I felt life again. What a marvelous day. I was so excited, I told everyone I saw and still havn't stopped smiling. I was given one of the most wonderful blessings today anyone could ever hope for. I didn't get any pics, I was too excited and afraid I might just go tumbling off the cliff. Next time there will be pics.
For today, hope you enjoy some shots of Kalani's spot of serentity...The Point...

PARADISE FOUND!!
Arrived last night around 10pm(3am Tn time). Welcomed at the airport by Marianna. Walked to the beach today and saw black sand for the first time. Two friends, Macgregor and Hana went snorkeling. The day has been gorgeous with a mild wind blowing. I share a cabana with Joanna from Philadelphia, 18 yrs. old and she arrived here from Ireland where she was a volunteer at an Organic Farm for four months. Sweet gal with a lot on the ball. Still getting my "island legs" and dealing with some jet lag but all is well. Looking forward to the bonfire and party tonight. There was a whale sighting today but seems she was gone by the time we got there. There is no ocean that I have ever seen as beautiful as I saw today.
