Go Outside and Play!

Go outside and play!” said God.
“I have given you Universes
as fields to run free in!
And here—take this and wrap yourself in it—It’s called:
LOVE
and It will always, always keep you warm.
And stars! The sun and the moon and the stars!
Look upon these often, for they will remind you
of your own light!
And eyes…oh, gaze into the eyes of every Lover.
Gaze into the eyes of every other
for they have given you their Universes
as fields to run free in.
There.
I have given you everything you need.
Now go, go, go outside and play!”

MORE BABIES...As you scroll thru the pics, see if you can guess what kind of baby birds are in the nest...there is actually a hint in the post

Nestled in the branches of a beautiful azalea bush, I found a nest with two eggs, when I returned the next day to take pics...we had two new babies!
Always ready to eat...(unless sleeping, of course)
Look closely...wings and feathers are recognizable..

Curious...
Still able to comfortably share the same nest...
Things getting a bit crowded...

And they just keep getting cuter...

See you, little buddies...one day before they "flew the coop"!!

SUPRISED?

FOR ALL YOU GARDNERS....

Oh, Adam was a gardener, and God who made him sees
That half a proper gardener's work is done upon his knees,
So when your work is finished, you can wash your hands and pray
For the Glory of the Garden that it may not pass away!
Rudyard Kipling

Did St. Francis preach to the birds? Whatever for? If he really liked birds he would have done better to preach to the cats.

A TIME WARP~~~~~~~

Down on the Obey River, back in the mountains we found a 200 acre farm, lush and green. Bordered by the Obey River and large old shade trees we had the perfect spot to enjoy live bluegrass, folk, blues, and Americana music. Folks were friendly, the music was outstanding...a local tv station out of Cookeville, Tn. will be showing some of the acts that performed at Hippie Jack's...look for it if you are a music lover...if not, maybe you would enjoy the trip back in time to the 60's...tie-dye t shirts, long hair, long skirts, bare feet, and a laid-back kind of attitude...it was great, I loved it...

Sharon, Hippie Jack & Terri
Jay Clark, an outstanding young musician from East Tn...you can find him and clips of his music at www.myspace.com/thejayclarkmusic "Scrappy" as he is called is a wonderful songwriter, performer...check him out!!

HONORING MEMORIAL DAY

The non-violent approach does not immediately change the heart of the oppressor. It first does something to the hearts and souls of those committed to it. It gives them a new self-respect; it calls up resources of strength and courage that they did not know they had. Finally it reaches the opponent and so stirs his conscience that reconciliation becomes a reality.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

FULL MOON

There's a full moon out there tonight...some call it the Flower Moon or the Full Corn Planting Moon...this full moon is in Scorpio making it an excellent time to make an important choice...

Native American Totems and Their Meanings

Meet Heckle and Jekyll...they're Crows...Native Americans believe that we all have certain animals that accompany us through life to teach and guide...these animals make up our totem poles and are called totem animals...Crows are one of my totem animals...couldn't be a soaring eagle or a graceful swan...no, no has to be the crow(we both like sparkly stuff!)...admittedly after studying crows, I have a new-found respect for these birds of survival...So be kind to crows...stop shooting at them and give 'em corn instead!!! WISDOM...

Finish each day and be done with it...You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely.

YouTube - EDDY ARNOLD / TENNESSEE STUD / CATTLE CALL

Farewell to a man with a voice I have loved since childhood, a voice so soothing and mellow...we will miss you Eddie Arnold, The Tennessee Plowboy. May you rest in peace Mr. Arnold.

"You cannot satisfy all the people," he once said. "They have an image of me. Some people think I'm Billy Graham's half brother, but I'm not. I want people to get this hero thing off their mind and just let me be me.

More Birds...

The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is back! Last couple of years he has stopped in on his journey northward, stays a week or so and then moves on. He pretty well "rules", he's pretty big fella and somewhat intimidates other birds but isn't really aggressive.

A downy woodpecker in flight...just caught sight of the Grosbeak...

Red-bellied Woodpecker...not easily intimidated... Grosbeak or not!

HELLOOOO AUSTIN

There's a gathering in Austin today...its a celebration...a celebration of the life of their beloved friend Sophie who left this earth one year ago today. I only knew her a short time but I knew her to be a lady of such class and grace. She loved her family, her friends, her farm, her dogs, goats...and Harry the parrot. Harry has supplied Sophie's friend, Marie, with "many-a-funny" story to tell. So here's to Sophie and her loving friends:

Speak to us of Friendship...and he answered saying...
Your friend is your needs answered.
She is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
And she is your board and your fireside.
For you come to her with your hunger and you seek her for peace.

When your friend speaks her mind, you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay".
And when she is silent you heart ceases not to listen to her heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed.

When you part from you friend, you grieve not;
For that which you love most in her may be clearer in her absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.
For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.

And let your best be for your friend.
If she must know the ebb of you tide, let her know its flood also.
For what is you friend that you should seek her with hours to kill?
Seek her always with hours to live.
For it is hers to fill your need, but not your emptiness.

And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

-Kahlil Gibran
