Its also one of my favorite flower colors. Standing next to the yellow snapdragon is a very special flower known as "Forget-Me-Not", a favorite among legends of true love...
Leaves that are very bitter used for medicinal purposes including snake bites.
Here's a new discovery for me, the Asiatic Dayflower...introduced from Asia, this wild ground cover has beautiful blue flowers that last only one day...hence the name.
surprise, surprise! Blue is also my favorite colour and mark's too!
ReplyDeleteAnd even though I am not into herbs and gardens... I also love forget-me-nots and of course I know chicory - in the olden days germans served coffee made from it - during the war because that's all they could find and after the war as a drink for children or as a "healthy" coffee. personally I found it a cheap trick to get children addicted to a drug (the real coffee)... I never liked it as a child... but I still remember the taste of it. especially the foam was kind of special... Don't you also grow a salad from the roots? - you know "endives" - chicory-salad?
thanks for your comments on good-to-know and I answered that there. Just posted another article as well this time on civil courage. one doesn't really hear about that any more, does one? But i think that must be a subject which also means soemthing to you, otherwise you wouldn't have posted many things you did on your other blog...
gotta get back to renovations... - sigh!
